Fall Protection for Arenas, Stadiums and Convention Centers
With installations in more than 135 public assembly facilities nationwide, no firm is more qualified to design and install a rigging fall protection system than Evan Fall Protection. As registered professional engineers trained in the design of fall protection systems, with more than 30 years of experience in the entertainment rigging industry, we understand the fall protection challenges faced by rigging and maintenance personnel. Working with arena and convention center owners, managers, architects and engineers, Evan Fall Protection provides solutions to fall protection challenges in both new and existing facilities.
Arena Fall Protection Challenges
Rigging and rooftop fall protection systems can be installed in existing facilities or during construction of new facilities. Significant benefits, including maximizing coverage and cost savings, can be achieved by incorporating fall protection early in the planning process for a new facility. All arenas are not alike. Each structure is unique, whether it be a long span truss, arch or space frame. Each unique structure requires a system tailored for the application. In addition to having unique fall protection requirements, arenas and stadia also face challenges resulting from large moving masses of snow collected on roof surfaces.
Protecting facilities around the country
Evan Fall Protection has designed and installed fall protection systems in more than 135 new and existing facilities across the country, including 22 professional sports arenas, 36 college and university facilities, 54 regional arenas and 5 NFL stadiums, as well as theatres and convention centers. Installed systems include horizontal lifeline and netting systems for rigging and rooftop fall protection and cable-based snow fences. Recently completed projects include Barclays Center, MetLife Stadium, Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, Landon Arena and the USF Sun Dome.
When the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando needed more than 60,000 lf of horizontal lifeline fall protection to provide coverage for nearly 1,000,000 sf of exhibition space, they hired Evan Fall Protection to provide turnkey, comprehensive design, installation and training services. At the Nationwide Arena and Philadelphia Eagles Stadium, in addition to rigging and rooftop fall protection systems, Evan Fall Protection designed, furnished and installed a cable-based flexible snow fence system that captures large masses of moving snow while reducing impact on the underlying support steel. Current projects include Pinnacle Bank Arena, Pepsi Coliseum, Sioux Falls Event Center and Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University.
